A Brief History of Wildflower Branch
When we first opened our doors at Wildflower Elementary in October 2006, we took the name Wildflower Branch for our school. It was a perfect choice and fit with our intention to settle into Wildflower Elementary and keep teaching there for a long time. Well, as things happen, we found ourselves needing to move at the end of the school year.
Well we hate to move, partly because every time you move you end up leaving a piece of what you are behind. So when we moved to Emerson-Edison Charter school in May 2007, and started teaching there, we decided to keep a piece instead... the Branch name we started with. This is one small way we stay connected to our beginnings in Colorado Springs.
As luck would have it, even our time at Emerson-Edison was limited. We again found ourselves looking for a place to call home, a place to teach Kempo and grow with our families. So on 1 March 2008 our new school address became 411F Tia Juana, and while it was tempting to change our name to commemorate our new beginning, we figured it was best to stay in touch with our Colorado beginnings a little bit longer.
15 February 2010, we opened the doors at our newest location! We've moved to a great spot just west of Peterson AFB off of Airport road. We're easier to find, closer to the base, and as close to our starting place at Wildflower Elementary as we've been since we left. We're looking forward to growing and training for a long time to come.
